Award winners
During Gwand 2022 Lucerne, Livia Naef, Dalga Swimwear and L&E Studio will present and sell their sustainable collections in the Schulthess Pop-Up Laundry Container. The three designers for the Schulthess Sustainable Fashion Design Challenge were chosen in advance by a jury consisting of Suzanna Vock (Head Gwand), stylist Luisa Rossi, Nicole Thier (Head of Marketing Schulthess Maschinen AG), Tania Schellenberg (Managing Director Faircustomer and Gwand Associate), Malena Ruder (Editorial Director Magazin Z of the NZZ), Sebastian Lanz (Founder and Managing Director RRREVOLVE) and Rebakka Sommerhalder (Managing Owner Gloor Switzerland).
In addition to Schulthess, the fair fashion shop RRREVOLVE also supports the sustainable fashion label, mer*fille by Paola de Michiel, with its RRREVOLVE Go Fair Award. At the RRREVOLVE stand, mer*fille can exhibit and sell. In addition, the label will have the opportunity to present and sell itself for one month in a prominent exhibition space in the RRREVOLVE Store on Zollstrasse in Zurich. In this way, RRREVOLVE wants to promote and support sustainable Swiss fashion designers on their way.
In the run-up: award information, application and jurying
Gwand is teaming up with Schulthess, the Swiss expert in washing technology. At the heart of the partnership is a competition to promote sustainably produced Swiss fashion designers. This year’s edition of the Gwand Sustainable Festival will take place in Lucerne from 1 to 3 September 2022.
Schulthess, the manufacturer of premium washing machines, will sponsor the Gwand Sustainability Market at the Gwand Sustainable Festival 2022. Schulthess and Gwand are launching the “Schulthess Sustainable Fashion Design Challenge”, a competition for sustainably producing designers. In this way, they are offering Swiss fashion designers a platform and more visibility.
Promoting sustainable Swiss designers: one of the main goals of Gwand
Three selected, sustainable Swiss fashion designers will present and sell their collections in the Schulthess Pop-Up Laundry Container during the festival days. The prerequisites are contemporary, fair and sustainably produced collections. The three designers will be selected in advance by a jury consisting of Suzanna Vock, Head Gwand, stylist Luisa Rossi, Nicole Thier, Head of Marketing, Schulthess Maschinen AG, Tania Schellenberg, Managing Director Faircustomer and Gwand Associate, Malena Ruder, Editorial Director Magazin Z of the NZZ, Sebastian Lanz, Founder and Managing Director RRREVOLVE and Rebakka Sommerhalder, Managing Owner Gloor Switzerland.
“The promotion of sustainable Swiss designers is one of the main goals of the festival. Thanks to the partnership with Schulthess, this is now a reality,” says Suzanna Vock, Head Gwand.
RRREVOLVE Go Fair Award · Another prize at Gwand 2022 Lucerne
RRREVOLVE Fair Fashion and Eco Design will award a second prize, in addition to Schulthess. From the entries for the “Schulthess Sustainable Fashion Challenge”, the company will award the “RRREVOLVE Go Fair Award” to a sustainable fashion designer.
The selected designer will be able to exhibit and sell at the RRREVOLVE Market House at the Gwand Sustainable Festival 2022. In addition, the start-up label will win the opportunity to present itself for one month in a prominent exhibition space in the RRREVOLVE Store on Zollstrasse in Zurich and also to sell its products.
In this way, RRREVOLVE wants to promote and support sustainable young Swiss designers and fashion creators on their way.
RRREVOLVE is a leading provider of sustainably and fairly produced alternatives for everyday life. The Zurich-based company clearly focuses on fair fashion, because the conventional fashion industry is still one of the dirtiest businesses in the world, both socially and ecologically.
The three “R “s in RRREVOLVE stand for “reduce, reuse, recycle”, the three maxims of sustainability. In their three shops in Zurich and Bern, as well as in their online shop, you will find only sustainably and fairly produced products:
Up-and-coming fashion designers who work sustainably can apply for the Schulthess Challenge and the RRREVOLVE Award until 31 May 2022 at info@gwand.org.
